Scene = in Szene setzen
Entstehung: Wie viele andere Subkulturen in den 80er Jahren.

Der Scene Style setzt sich aus verschiedenen Punkten zusammen. Eigentlich genau wie jeder andere Style auch. Der Eine Punkt ist das Styling. Hier spielen Haare und Make Up eine zentrale Rolle. Die Haare sind meist blond, braun oder schwarz, werden des Öfteren aber auch pink oder türkis gefärbt, wobei oft Stripes miteingefärbt werden. Sie sind meist stufig und mit vielen Fransen geschnitten. Extensions sind hierbei sehr beliebt. Vorzugsweise werden die Haare toupiert und geglättet. Zum Schluss werden Schleifen/Blumen/Haarreifen- und Bänder angebracht.
Enge Hosen (oft auch bunt/mit Mustern) werden beim Styling bevorzugt. Dazu werden bunte, auffällige Oberteile getragen. Accessoires spielen eine große Rolle (auffällige Ketten, Bandanas, Perlen, bunte Armbänder) Schwarze Klamotten werden als Kontrast zu all dem bunten Schnickschnack verwendet. Hoodies mit Rundumdruck werden gern getragen. Bunte Sneakers, Chucks und Vans sind die meistgetragenen Schuhe.
Laute Meinungsäußerungen gehören zur Attitude der Scene Kids. Die derbe „Mir-doch-egal“-Art oder eine völlig überdrehte Art sind typisch. Manchmal kommt hierbei die Höflichkeit zu kurz.
Eyeliner ist ein Must Have für das Make Up der Scenesters. Er wird nicht zu dick und vorzugsweise schwarz aufgetragen. Lidschatten in Knallfarben werden im Kontrast dazu getragen.
Tattoos & Piercings sind sehr gefragt beim Scene Style (Surfaces, Septums, Plugs/Tunnels)

Oft werden bei Scenesters auch Marken wie Famous Stars and Straps, Hello Kitty und Gloomy Bear gesehen. Schlagringe, Regenbögen, Cartoonfiguren und Tiermuster sind Bestandteile des Klamottenstils.

Fast alle Scenesters haben den Drang, gesehen zu werden, aufzufallen und beliebt zu sein. Scenesters sind sehr produktiv. Dies sieht man auch daran, dass sie oft eigene Klamottenlabels, Schmucklabels oder Bands haben. Sie machen viele Fotos, oft auch wegen der Liebe zur Fotografie. Scenesters müssen ein großes Selbstvertrauen haben, da ihr Styling oft auch auf sehr unangenehme Kritik stößt. Oft werden sie auch selbstverherrlichend dargestellt. Meistens aber suchen sie einfach nach Bestätigung.

Natürlich kann man nachvollziehen, warum viele Leute die Scenesters nicht mögen. Dies liegt aber nicht an allen Scene Kids sondern an jedem einzelnen. Nur weil das eine Scene Mädel unhöflich und selbstverliebt ist, heißt das ja nicht, dass ein anderes genauso ist
